Finally....an update!!

I've given up on trying to religiously update this thing....can you tell? :)

This has been quite the past three weeks for the Reeves V family! Where do we begin?.....

  • On October 6th, Jerry started a new job! He's now working with Efacec, a Portuguese company that is now building a giant plant in Effingham County (about 10 miles from my office, I might add). Currently all of the employees are basically in a class, learning all there is to know about power transformers, how the Portuguese do business, etc. Jerry seems to have taken a lead role in this whole process, and I just keep telling him to suck up and do what he can to build relationships with these folks. Who knows - maybe in a year or two he'll be running the plant!

  • Since Jerry started work on 10/6, that meant Carrie lost her "manny" and so she started school herself! She's now going to Cross Schools Early Childhood Education program. It has been a GREAT experience so far for her. She seems to really love the other kids in the class, and she already has a favorite teacher it seems, Miss Elisabeth. We now have cute art projects hanging on our fridge, fundraisers to participate in, and school photos to buy! Oh yes, and she seems to have a boyfriend already. I believe his name is Joe. He's so much bigger than her and apparently likes to show his affection by tackling her in a bear hug, or so I'm told by the teachers. I guess boys never change....

  • We are now living in the cottage on Jerry's parents' property - it is SO cute! It's from the 20s, so it's definitely the oldest house we've ever lived in. But it's really perfect for us - Carrie has her own room, we do too, and we were able to bring down some of our furniture (read: big screen TV). I don't think that cottage has ever seen so much technology. In the span of about a week, we brought in our HD TV, blu ray player, had an HD dish installed, and got cable internet installed as well. Jerry's in heaven.

Well, that's really about it. We are getting ready for Halloween coming up on Friday. Since Jerry's out of town, I've signed Carrie and me up for the "teenie weenie Halloweenie" party at Oldfield on Friday - should be lots of fun, and a great photo op!

I'll leave you with a few pics from Carrie's first day of school.

Bailey had to be in the photo too....

Making ourselves comfortable at school!

Carrie immediately claimed this babydoll as her own...
